To add to our already busy weekend, my MBA graduation was today. So we had a pretty early flight from Chicago and then headed to graduation and to an amazing dinner after. My ceremony last about an hour, and I loved that it moved quickly and they got everyone through. In my cap and gown and new hood (I never got “hooded” in under grad so this must be something new, but it was pretty fun)
After the ceremony we headed to Manny’s, one of the best steakhouses in Minneapolis. We had heard that Manny’s was not charging a corkage fee on BYOB so we picked up a really nice bottle of 2004 Cabernet from Napa. This was an awesome wine and the first time I have had a bottle that cost more than $70 dollars. Since it was a steakhouse we opted for big ol’ pieces of meat, a porterhouse, a filet mignon, and a ribeye. All of them were excellet, I only ate about 1/3 of my steak because it was huge! We orderd the signature mashed potatoes and snow peas, both were very tasty.
Since were celebrating a special occasion, we received a free dessert. This chocolate bailey’s pie with homemade fudge sauce was amazing. It was huge and we didn’t even finish it splitting it 3 ways. Overall our dinner was great, service was amazing and the food was delicious. We will be eating lefotvers for a few days! The only negative was that the no-corkage fee was no longer in effect, so we were charged $25 but all in all it is not that big of a deal for the caliber of wine we had.
