I am spending some time going through pictures to figure out what we want to print for photo albums from our Italy trip. I also need to go through past trips to Egypt, Paris/Barcelona, Nicaragua, Mexico City and Peru. We have been really bad at printing and framing pictures and I need to go to it, its been on my to do list forever. I would like to do a wall of pictures somewhere in the house that highlights our favorite pictures and some of the monuments we have been to.
This afternoon we are heading to run some errands, do a Costco run and then are meeting Mike’s brother Pete, his wife Gretchen, their kids Kasey and Griffin and Mike’s dad for dinner at Old Chicago in Eden Prairie. Should be a good time!
I feel like this week dragged on, so I am very glad it is Saturday. Last night we went to Kristin and Chad’s house to BBQ and the we headed to Canterbury Park to check out some horse racing and enjoy the beautiful night. The food was great, we made our go to Black Bean, Corn and Quinoa Salad and brought Chicken sausage filled with Mozzarella that we had picked up at Sam’s Club, Kari and Keith brought a Caesar salad. We grilled and enjoyed the salads, burgers and the chicken sausages.
I grabbed my camera to take a few pictures and realized the battery was dead
Oh well, it was really good food. We brought a 6 pack of Shock Top and a 2006 DeLoach Merlot from California that Mike enjoyed. I had 2 Shock Tops and Mike and other enjoyed the Merlot. He thought it was pretty good. This was one of the wines from the Wall Street Journal Wine club and we have had really enjoyed all the wines, there honestly has not been anything we haven’t liked. It’s a great deal if you like to try new wines from smaller vineyards.
We relaxed for a bit this morning and then headed to the gym, it was pretty busy and the weight area was really packed. It was difficult to get a bench for the supersets. Today was the first day of a new Turbulence Training workout, I think I am going to really like this one for the next month. I started with 20 min of Intervals on the (evil) Stepmill and then hit the weights.
We stopped at the farmers market on the way back and picked up some Basil for a $1, such a great deal and got a big bunch of kohlrabi. One of my favorite veggies
I was really hungry when I got back from the gym so I made an open faced peanut butter and jelly sandwich on an Arnold Thin and used the Valencia peanut butter from Trade Joe’s and some Raspberry Preserves. I had a big bowl of watermelon with it, I love summer for all the great fruit!
