We hosted an Italian themed couples group dinner at our house last night and had a blast! The food was incredible, an assortment of cheeses, bread and olive oil, various Italian condiments including a Red Pepper Jam, Italian Honey, and Salt that we brought home with us from our trip. Min and Rolf brought gnocchi and homemade Ancient Roman Cheesecake made with ricotta and hone, the wine was a Barbara D’Asti that was very drinkable. Jill and Scott brought homemade bruschetta, an Olive Bread from Rustica, and Italian Cookies and Limoncello! They brought a few bottles of wine- 2 whites and a red that we didn’t even open last night! We had enough wine to go around. Bak and her husband brought a Caprese salad with tomatoes and basil from their garden and very fresh mozzarella. It was delicious! They also brought Limoncello which we promptly put in the freezer and got icy cold.
We made the baked pasta from Giada, which always goes over really well. We also made a tomato and mozzareall salad with a balsalmic pesto reduction. It was gone by the end of the night. We had a few Barbara D’Asti’s and a few bottles of the Italian Chardonnay leftover from our reception.
As we got talking through out the evening we figured out that all of the couples had met on Match.com, we took a group picture and think we should send it into Match as a success story! Everyone left around 11, right in the middle of huge thunderstorm, sorry if you got too wet guys.
