Breakfast for Dinner

September 2, 2009

Today was a really busy day with a few last minute projects and the Community Giving Campaign kick off, there was a huge lunch on the plaza and adult tricycle races. I don’t have pictures of the races yet, since I handed my camera to someone but they didn’t use it. smile_sad Oh well. The lunch options were limited so I had a hot dog minus the bun with ketchup and relish, a tiny tiny cup of pasta salad, and a rice krispie bar. I was hungry by 1:30! I needed a pick me up so I got a mango raspberry iced tea from Caribou to go along with my veggies.

I left work a few minutes before 5 and headed to the gym, it was crazy busy tonight. I did 30 minutes of cardio and a circuit for weights. This was difficult to do with a bunch of guys hogging all the machines. Seriously. One guy was on the cable cross machine the entire time I was lifting- 30 minutes on your chest??? The circuit looked like:

Squat

Lat Pulldown

Standing Calf Raises

Bench Press

Bulgarian Split Squat

Crunch on Swiss Ball

Military Press

I did this 3 times with 5 minutes of cardio in between each run through. I was exhausted by the time I left the gym! I downed a Cliff Strawberry Citrus drink and headed home.

I showered, folded a load of laundry and looked for dinner. I was craving breakfast food and thought of an egg sandwich, I poached 2 eggs from the Farmers Market on Sunday and added them to an Arnold Thin with a slice of cheese and some spinach. To add a bit more protein and veggies I made a Green Monster with 2 huge handfuls of spinach, a scoop of Amazing Grass Chocolate Superfood, a few pieces of cantaloupe, almond milk and a squeeze of agave nectar. Yum! The cantaloupe is a nice add.
