3 Day Weekend Begins!!

September 4, 2009

Yeah for Friday! It was a busy day and I was bad and didn’t prep my post last night. smile_embaressed I was at work by 7:15 am and was ready to get stuff done, to start my day out I had a  Granny Smith apple and a peanut butter and apricot jam sandwich on an Arnold Thin. Good but left me craving more peanut butter! Peanut Butter is one of those foods that I have to watch myself around, I could easily eat a whole jar.  I was craving tea as well so I opted for a cup of the Red Roobios, in my Flying Pig mug.

I have a huge thing for pigs, and have quite a few pig related items. I have no idea where that stems from but I have loved them since I was a kid, on my desk I have a mini stuffed pig, my pig mug and a piglet calendar. When I was younger I had at least 50 stuffed pigs for my collection in my Pet Net that was hanging in the corner (do you remember those?)

We had a group pizza lunch today so I opted not to take pictures, I had 2 pieces of square pizza. Call me crazy but I really don’t like thin crust pizza cut in squares, I hate having messy hands and there is no logical place to hold the pizza. I guess I am weird ;) When I got home from work I was really craving chocolate so I searched through the pantry for something chocolate and spied some rice cakes and nutella. Mmmm nutella!

We are heading to Heidi’s for dinner, and this restaurant was voted Best in Minneapolis for 2009 so we are super excited to try it! I will be back later with my review.

A Perfect Dinner

September 4, 2009

The plan for this evening was to come home and relax. I have a few books to read and a few shows on DVR I could watch, a very nice night! I was really hungry when I got home from work and made a plate of a few cheeses, almonds, crackers, and peppers. There were a few Italian cheeses, a parmesean, a swiss and a cheddar. I love cheese, it is one of my favorite foods!

I opened a bottle of my favorite wine, New Age. This a light white wine that has a bit of effervescence and a nice sweet taste, it looked beautiful in one of my girl wine glasses. This is a great wine to take to a party, its under $10 dollars and is something different than what is normally served. I have seen it at the majority of liquor stores. A similar wine is a Vino Verde from Portugal, also a tiny bit bubbly and a bit sweet but not overwhelmingly so.
