Pizza and Root Beer

September 17, 2009

After the scavenger hunt I was in need of a meal and something cold, so we ordered Davani’s Pizza and I opted for a Root Beer.  A great Thursday night dinner, our typical pizza is half pepperoni and pineapple and the other half is sausage and mushrooms. Yum!

We are watching the season premier of Bones tonight and heading to bed early! I am exhausted, too much fun this week ;)

St. Paul Scavenger Hunt

September 17, 2009

We had an event for our Marketing Council today where we competed in teams for prizes. Every quarter the Marketing Council does some sort of social event and the scavenger hunt was a lot of fun. There were 20 places to find and tasks to complete, we had to find the location and take a picture of the team at each place. The final picture had to be a creative team picture, here we are:

We find out the winners tomorrow :) I hope we won! Breakfast today was pomegranate Chobani and grapes, tasty! Today was also a new tea flavor day- Blackberry Sage from The Republic of Tea. This is a great flavor, lots of fruit with a subtle hint of sage. I also had a Peanut Butter and Jam Bite.

I went to lunch with my friend Beka at Kincaid’s and had half a french dip with a cup of Lamb Barely soup. This is the 2nd time I have had the soup and it is delicious, lots of veggies and big pieces of lamb.

Have I Been Spoiled?

September 17, 2009

We had a blast last night at the wine tasting, a group of us headed to dinner at W.A. Frost in St. Paul. It turned into a pretty late night, it was 10:30 before I was home.

The Wine Tasting was held in a wine warehouse in St. Paul and I would have liked to have been locked in there for a few days, there were pallets of wine everywhere! I was the first of my group to arrive and I figured it might as well get tasting…

Each table had between 15-20 wines and there were 4 tables spread out around the warehouse. My tastings included:

Henriot Brut Champagne ($55 a bottle)

Il Ghizzano IGT 2007  ($18 a bottle)

Le Pupille Morellini di Scansano 2006  ($22 a bottle)

Baumard Cermand de Loire “Carte Turquise”  2005 ($23 a bottle)

Guigal Chateauneuf de Pape ($55 a bottle)

Bodega Lurton Malbec Reserva 2007 (16 a bottle)

A to Z Chardonnay 2007 ($15 a bottle)

A to Z Night and Day 2007 (16 a bottle)

Hill of Content “Benjamins Blend” 2005 ($13 a bottle)

Tir Na N’og Grenache 2006 ($32 a bottle)

Ned and Henry’s Shiraz 2006 ($26 a bottle)

Elderton Command Shiraz 2005 ($100 a bottle)

All of the wines had a great unique flavor profile and I really enjoyed them. I think my favorite was the Elderton Shiraz, it had a nice full body but wasn’t too tanic.

After all the wine tasting we were starving, so we headed to W.A. Frost for some dinner. It was a beautiful night out and we sat on their amazing patio, unfortunately the service was very very slow. We were there for 2 1/2 hours and it could have been about an hour. It took 45 minutes just to get out check! The saving grace of the meal was  my lamb burger and mixed greens, this burger rocked! Great flavor with the cucumber sauce. I did end up pulling it off the bun because it was way to much bread.

I got home around 10:30 and headed straight to bed and didn’t wake up once!
