I slept from 11 to about 8 this morning, I feel like a new person! There isn’t much better than a good night of sleep! We lounged a bit and then I ran to the gym for some quick cardio- 15 min on the stepmill and 15 on the treadmill, I was a sweaty mess. It was 10:30 by the time I got home and we were starving, I made a quick Green Monster with a banana, a scoop of chocolate protein powder, a scoop of amazing grass, 2 huge handfuls of spinach, a few ice cubes and almond milk. Recovery deliciousness.
We had a few pitas that needed to be used up and 4 eggs left so we threw together the eggs, spinach, some red pepper and a bit of shredded cheddar cheese all scrambled together. The mixture filled 2 pita halves topped with a bit more cheese and some salsa for a really good breakfast.

I am comfortably full and looking forward to a beautiful day, I am scoring a car race for a friend this afternoon and am watching my Gophers get their butts kicked (boo!) by Cal. We are flipping between the Gophers/Cal game and the Wisconsin/Wofford game. (Who and where is Wofford, and why are the Badgers playing them??)
For your couples group last night we went to the Movies in the Park series in a Minneapolis park. They do these every Friday all summer long and this was the last one. So we headed to Sibley Park and watched Kung Fu Panda, what a cute movie! It is about a noodle making panda who is "chosen” to be the dragon warrior who would save the town. While it is a kids movie there was a lot of adult humor! We brought chairs, blankets and a good picnic spread to share.
We brought olives, cheese, crostini, grapes, peppers, carrots and hummus to enjoy during the movie.

We had forgotten to grab beverages so Mike bought a few Shasta’s from the concession stand for 50 cents, I choose Grape. Grape soda was one of my favorite things as I kid and it has been a long time since I have had a can and it was so good! Although I did have a bit of a stomach ache from all that sugar!

One of the guys in the group works at the new stadium so he brought the biggest bags of popcorn I have ever seen! There was a group of about 10 year old boys who just ending football practice and came running when he offered to share, they filled their helmets and sat down to watch the movie. It was a beautiful night and a great way to wind down summer.
