I went to a Mondavi Wine Dinner at Spill The Wine in Minneapolis. The tickets were $30 and we got appetizers, a starter, main course, and dessert with wine pairings for each. The event started at 6:30 with the first two wines and passed appetizers. The first two wines were a Fume Blanc and a Cabernet Sauvignon to go with a Cream of Tomato Soup Shooter and a Crostini with Sun Dried Tomatoes and Goat Cheese.

The event was sold out and had $75 participants, a full restaurant!
The starter was a Caesar salad with croutons and a light dressing, it was tasty but small. Our main entree was chicken in a lemon garlic cream sauce, I was very disappointed in this! It was a piece of chicken with some cream sauce, nothing else on the plate. I know dinner for 75 is hard but a chicken breast on the plate? The wine pairings were the saving grace, a nice Chardonnay and a Pinot Noir.
Dessert was a lemon lime tart in a brown sugar crust with meringue, it was basically fancy lemon meringue pie
But the Moscato to go along was delicious, I love Moscato!
While the food was disappointing I had a great time talking to people and seeing my friend Rachel!
