Deflated

November 17, 2009

Today was one of those days that I do not want to repeat! Work has  been very challenging and I have not had the best working relationships with a few key people. I am not going to go into details but I ended up feeling like a complete and utter failure who couldn’t do anything right. Now I know that I am not, but its amazing what words can do! I spend the next hour in tears at my desk trying to be productive but that wasn’t happening. Thank goodness for work friends who truly care, she came over and calmed me down and gave me some great advice and had me talk to a VP on the floor who is a GREAT listener. I cried my heart out and have someone who just sat and listened and then gave me really good advice. I took notes and left feeling a little better, my biggest takeaway was do your best and make the best effort you can make to control your half of the relationship. You can’t control what the other person says and does but you can control how you react.

 

I need to work on being less sensitive and taking a step back and not letting emotions take over. I am a direct person that tends to wear my emotions on my sleeve but I am committed to trying to have better control. I know this is easier said then done but I can make my effort. By the end of the day I was deflated and emotionally drained, I knew I could go home and have Clifford waiting for me. At least he always appreciates me!

 

Really needing some stress relief I remembered that Corepower Yoga has Yoga on Demand. you can purchase a “membership” and enjoy doing yoga in your living room. I picked a Vinyasa class and got flowing. It helped! Minus the face that Clifford wanted to lay on me ;) Even though I wasn’t overly hungry I knew i needed to eat something, I made some peanut butter toast and am having a glass of Whole Foods Raspberry Lemon Sparking Water. I love this stuff!

Eat, Repeat

I am going to be very boring and eat the same thing I did yesterday, since we are trying to clean out the fridge and didn’t want to buy too much I have lots of the same thing over the next few days. Breakfast is the honey Oikos and ThinkFruit bar, I don’t know if I would bar this flavor again but it was better than nothing for breakfast.

Lunch is the last of the tomato soup, the quinoa salad and loads of veggies

Snacks are an apple, string cheese and more veggies. Gotta get the fridge cleaned out! As of right now I don’t have any plans tonight so hopefully I can come home and relax with the puppy.
