After running to National Camera to pick up a low light lense for Mikes digital SLR we went to Chateau Lamothe which is in Burnsville. We have been meaning to try this place for a few years as it is a wine focused restaurant in the suburbs that consistently wins awards for best wine list and restaurant. I seriously want their huge wine glass with corks!

We started with the Brie and Apple Foccacia which was Brie, rosemary and cinnamon apples baked on an herbed focaccia crust, topped with caramelized
almonds and dried cranberries. This was a good sized appetizer, small with nice hints of cinnamon.
For our entrees I ordered the Pork tenderloin which was Porketta crusted, seared and roasted to perfection, hand-carved and served with cranberry apple-pepper chutney. -wild rice sauté, tomato Devonshire and asparagus.

Mike had the bouef bouruignon which was Julia Childs’ famous recipe. Beef pieces seared, simmered slowly in red wine, beef stock and seasonings for four hours, finished with sliced carrots, onions, whole mushrooms and garlic. Topped with baby peas and crispy bacon, over roasted potatoes with French baguette.

Our wine this evening was Hearts Desire Zinfandel and was delicious, a bit pricy but really good. I have found that I really like zin and the bold flavors it provides. You can find some good zin under $20 which is great for everyday drinking. A few test shots with the news lens on our digital SLR, do you think they look better? Although I do think Clifford looks pretty darn cute

First I was going to comment on your dinner, but your dog won out – so cute! And I love his name
I have had two dogs, but had to give both of them up due to allergies (even though they were both “hypo-allergenic” dogs). I know SOME DAY it will be the right time for me to have a dog in my life.. but sadly, that’s not now.
Anyways, back to dinner – looks awesome! And I love that big cork filled glass too! I have a weird obsession with oversized mugs/bowls/glasses
