It is Restaurant Week here in the Twin Cities and it is the prime time to get out and try some new restaurants and visit a few old favorites because the price is right and the food is amazing! I meet two former coworkers for lunch today to celebrate birthdays and just catch up. It has been 2 and a half months since I have seen 2 of my favorite people (Mark and Miss B- I miss you!). Mark picked Meritage in St. Paul and I was excited to visit one of my favorite St. Paul places.
Mark ordered the Restaurant Week Menu, he started with a bowl of mushroom soup with duck that he ate so quickly I didn’t photo! But…his entree of local Pork Belly was so beautifully plated.
Beka ordered the omelet du jour that had spinach and cheese with a side of mixed greens.
I had the Beef Pot Au Feu Sandwich with caramelized onions, mushrooms, and emmenthaler cheese. This was one delicous sandwich and the fries were even better.
Beka and I split a tiny little chocolate mouse to end the amazing lunch. I was in food heaven.
We had a nice table in the window and the sun was coming in and we were warm, I just wanted a book and a big glass of red wine. That would have made they day! The service at Meritage is always very good and this will be a place I keep going back to.
