Today was one of those days where nothing sounded good and I just wanted to eat chips and chocolate. I tried having a small piece of chocolate and a few BBQ popchips but that didn’t do the trick… so it was popcorn for dinner. Salty goodness.
It was a crazy busy day at work and even busier at home, I did a 60 min Yoga On Demand class while Clifford wanted to pay fetch. It is hard to do both at the same time! We also packed up the guest bathroom, linen closet, some of the master bath and most of our bookshelves. Packing is just no fun but I am trying to stay ahead of it and not let it creep up on us. March 25th will be here very quickly.
Off to watch Lost from last night and get a good nights sleep. The gym will be waiting for me bright and early.
In further celebration of Restaurant Week we knew we wanted to go to La Belle Vie and made a reservation 3 weeks in advance. La Belle Vie is one of the best restaurants in the Twin Cities. They are known for their tasting menu, wine pairings and amazing service. This meal did not disappoint, they were packed at 6pm on a Tuesday night! We opted for the tasting menu and partial wine pairing:

Nantucket bay scallops with foie gras, beets and black truffle. This was paired with a Mont Marcel Spanish Cava. I actually enjoyed these beets!

Sea trout with cuttlefish carbonara and braised butter lettuce. This was paired with a Neyer Chardonnay that was un-oaked and amazing. The trout was prepared so well, it was buttery and delicious.

Grilled beef ribeye with fallen camembert soufle, dried cherries and port. The rib-eye had a great crust and was cooked perfectly. The wine pairing was Kalys, which is a grenache/syrah blend.

La Belle Vie is one of my top 5 restaurants and meals ever! Such amazing food and service. This is a place we will keep coming back to.
