Wine and Food Memories

March 24, 2010

I was thinking about wine and food memories when I was at dinner with Beka and Jenna at Bin Wine Bar last night and how much I equate memories with the wine and/or food I was having. Some of my most vivid food memories are:

Eating Dinner at Bistrot Du Sommlier in Paris which as of 29 years, 1 month and 16 days is the number one meal on my list (Image Source)

An authentic dinner in Egypt

Wine in Italy

Caipirinha in Brazil and Feiojada

I want to hear about your favorite food and/0r wine memory, where and what was it?

Bin Wine Bar

I wanted to give Jenna and Beka their compliments in a separate post. But I also wanted to give Bin Wine War its props. Bin has only been open a few months and I knew we wanted to try it for happy hour. Bin is female owned and focuses on small plates and a unique wine list.

I got there a few minutes before Jenna and Beka arrived and spent some time perusing the wine list and small plates. I decided on a Makulu Pinotage from South Africa for a glass of wine. The pinotage was fruity but had a nice full flavor, I would order this again.

When the girls got there we opted on a cheese plate and a meat plate to share among the three of us

And we coudn’t forget dessert, and heavenly it was. 3 homemade butterscotch chocolate chip cookies and a HUGE truffle.

I will be visiting again shortly! We had good wine, great services and even better conversations.

Tonight was such a great evening, I met two girlfriends for happy hour/dinner. I worked with Jenna and Beka at a previous job and they were my work best friends. I turned to them for all work issues and just someone to talk to about anything and everything. Even though we may not see each other all that often we always pick up right where we left off.

I appreciate having good girlfriends to talk to about anything with, from relationships, to work, to food, to stress management I know that they will always listen to what I have to say and offer sound advice. The important thing about good girlfriends is that they love you for who you are and are ALWAYS there to support you regardless of what you may do, say or think. We have honest and frank conversation about what is going on in our lives and offer advice for each other based on our individual experiences and life lessons.

Throughout my life I have had close girlfriends in all parts of my life, whether they are from Junior High, High School, right after college or my first real job these women have played such important parts in my life and I am so thankful for all the advice and encouragement that I have ever received from them (especially Jenna and Beka). We had 2 and a half hours of solid conversation, catching up and just listening to each other. I left dinner tonight so happy and feeling so lucky. Jenna and Beka- I love you and am so thankful I have you in my life. (This also goes out to Stacey, Jess, Nessa, Jill, Carla, Mike and Bobby if you are reading for being solid rocks and listening when I needed you).
