Last Minute Details

March 25, 2010

My internal alarm clock had me up about 5:45am this morning with excitement and thoughts about the move. We laid in bed until 7, did a few things around the house and then headed to the gym for some cardio and chest workout. I did 30 minutes on the robot looking elliptical and then did:

Incline Bench Press

Dumbbell Fly

Military Press with Barbell

Barbell Upright Row

Lateral Raises

Rear Deltoid Raises

My chest and lats will be sore tomorrow, especially with lots of heavy lifting of boxes and furniture. We opted to grab breakfast at the gym since 99% of our food is packed and so are dishes and silverware. We each had the smoothie of the day which was blueberry and banana and split an egg wrap. It hit the spot and no clean up for us!

As we great ready to head to the closing on our house we have been running around the house like crazy. Packing up loose ends and loading up both of our vehicles so we can do a load right after we get the keys. Today we need to

  • drive halfway across the metro to get monster cables at a much cheaper price (who knew a cable for the tv could be $200!)
  • get as many small items and boxes moved as possible
  • move all the electronics so cable can come set up tomorrow morning (yes, in the middle of a move we needed cable because it is NCAA Basketball Time)
  • move plants
  • get the fridge plugged in and running so we can bring food over
  • paint at least the main family room wall so it will be dry before the electronics get installed and mounted above the fireplace

During all this craziness Clifford just looked at with a look of contempt because we were disturbing his nap. How dare we!

Hells Kitchen

March 25, 2010

Last night I had a monthly dinner for The Little Black Dress Club and we headed to Hells Kitchen in Minneapolis for some music, drinks and dinner. I love going to the dinners for the The Little Black Dress Club because I always meet new people, last night I knew four of the six and it was so great meeting Rita and Laura. Everyone has such an interesting story and we always have a wide variety of ages. We had from 25 to 60 at dinner and we had great conversation and were laughing almost the whole night. We even had a few people come up to us and ask us what we were doing to have so much fun.

I had a Foxy Fosse martini that has ginger infused vodka and a basil lemonade, it was delicious. It had that nice bite of ginger but the basil lemonade was not too sweet, it would be great during the summer.

For my entree I had the Ham and Pear Crisp which Hell’s Kitchen is famous for, 4 of us ended up getting the same thing and we all loved it.
