Al Vento

April 10, 2010

To celebrate Mike’s new job we went to Al Vento in Minneapolis last night with our friends Scott and Jill. Al Vento is known for Southern Italian Cuisine and their very unique menu. They reprint it everyday!

For the antipasti course we started with the Sicilian Stuffed Mushrooms with Pine Nuts and mother sauce- these mushrooms were amazing. I could have eaten the whole plate by myself! Blue Hill muscles were also the antipasti of choice, these muscles were huge and had great flavor.

Our wine choice for the evening was a Canaletto from Montepulciano d’Abruzzo

We each got a different entree and they were all amazing, the bucatini was so incredible. Nice thick noodles with pancetta and tomatoes.

Jill had maltagliata that was made fresh that day

Scott had the spaghetti and meatballs with their mother sauce (he has had that a few times and said it was the best he has had!)

Mike had the Skate with spinach that was cooked perfectly and had a great sause

We will definitely be going back! It has a great atmosphere and was very reasonable priced. Our service was very attentive and he offered his suggestions on favorites.
