Mike and I got to workout together this morning! For years he has done the hotel gym during the week but now that he works in town we get to workout together during the week. Since he now works about 6 blocks from me we can leave the house at the same time to workout and head to work, it is weird to be on a similar schedule. We arrived at the gym at about 5:50 and picked our cardio machine of choice and got going, I did 30 minutes on the StepMill with the current issue of Fitness magazine with Kristin Davis on the cover. She looks amazing at 45 and I love her attitude about fitness and eating. She does what she likes to do for activity and eats healthy most of the time but if she wants M&M’s she has them
Today’s lifting was legs and we did:
Leg Extension (3×10)
Front Squats (3 x10)
Leg Curls (3×10)
Lunges (3×10)
Seated Calf Raises (3 x10)
Standing Calf Raises (3×10)
My legs were burning by the end and I know they will be on the sore side tomorrow. Cardio seems to go by so much faster if I am paging through a magazine, I am not intently reading it but just kind of skimming. When I am done with the magazines I kindly donate them to the magazine basket near the back of the cardio area. This morning I had brought 3 magazines to donate, the current issues of Oprah, Health and Mpls/St. Paul Magazine and I had planned on donating the Fitness I was reading when I was done with cardio. As I put the first three issues in I noticed a woman come up and grab ALL three and walk out with them. Really?? I thought the whole point was to re-use the magazine and allow others to enjoy while doing their workouts, not that some random person gets to steal them! How rude (said in my best Stephanie Tanner from Full House voice).
Now that I have thoroughly vented about said magazine stealers I need to get to work, my to do list is just as long as yesterday and I have 20 unread emails in my inbox. I am off to enjoy the rest of my pineapple banana smoothie that was on special this morning, a very tasty breakfast.
Is there anything that would keep smoothies cold enough in the car during the summer? Now that it is getting a bit warmer here I don’t want to leave them sitting out in the car for the hour and a half I am in the gym. Any ideas on what I could store it in? It is so much cheaper to make them at home.
