Indian Food Thursday

June 10, 2010

Mike and I carpooled today and were trying to figure out what sounded good for dinner and I thought of Indian food. It has been months since we had enjoyed any. Calling for takeout and picking it up within 15 minutes works pretty darn nice.

Mike got his favorite- butter chicken while I ordered lamb rogan josh. Both served with basmati rice and some naan and samosas on the side. A perfect dinner for Thursday night and leftovers for lunch tomorrow!

The wine of choice for the evening was a very good Italian Chianti, a 2008 Colleczione di Paolo. Chianti gets a bad rap but it is seriously underrated, it has such great body, taste and texture. We were worried this would be too young, but it had such great flavor.

Tonight has gone so fast, we have been busy prepping for the wine group that is coming over. As of right now we are expecting about 40, there will be some last minute cancels but it will be a packed place smile_partyWhat 40+ wine glasses look like and two tables with al leaves extended ready for food and wine.

Peanut Butter Delivery

June 10, 2010

My favorite kind of delivery came yesterday, a whole big ol box of nut butter. What could be better! 3 of my favorite flavors and I can not wait to eat them all. So much so that I had to make peanut butter and jelly for lunch. A mix of Butter Toffee Peanut Butter and Gooseberry Jam from Ikea, nothing like adding some unique flavors to an old classic.

How fantastic was the Glee finale! I love how un pc and daring that show is, make me miss high school theatre and musicals. What activities were you involved in? I was a cheerleader, involved in chorus and theatre, danced, and swam for a bit. I probably would have played soccer had it been popular when I was younger.
