After agonizing for weeks and going back and forth about needing this purchase I finally decided to do it and bought a new Canon EOS Rebel T2i. I read the Consumer Reports ratings, compared deals on at least 5 websites and settled on National Camera and Video and purchasing it there. After much deliberation I decided on the model and lens package and just needed to think of a name for her.
National Camera was very competitive with Amazon, Best Buy, and a few other online retailers and they offer classes to teach you how to use the camera. In addition to my online photography class I thought an in person class would make the most sense. The camera was on sale and I got an even better deal today because there was an open box, an extra $100 off is pretty darn nice.
I am really excited to take some new pictures and have a wedding to attend this weekend to try it out at. But I had to at least test the difference between our old Rebel that Mike purchased in 2005 and the new one.

It seems much sharper and saturated with the new camera. I can’t wait to test her out all weekend! This is my first really big electronics purchase and it was scary handing over my check card.
What has been your biggest “adult” purchase besides a house or a car? This camera was definitely it for me!
p.s. Her name is Shirley after my Grandma
