Hello 3 Day Weekend

July 2, 2010

Why hello 3 day weekend, I am so glad you are here! I was able to leave work a bit early at 4:30 and come home and relax a few minutes before Mike landed and make a quick dinner for us. Sandwiches, strawberries, peapods from the farmers market and a few chips. Perfect for a Friday night when we are headed back outside to enjoy a hot summer day.

I am looking forward to reading a new photography book, Rick Sammon’s Complete Guide to Digital Photography 2.0. Hopefully there are some good tips and I can learn more about how to use more of the manual and program settings.

Driveway Parties

July 2, 2010

When making the decision to buy a house you take a chance on the neighborhood and whether or not you will like the neighbors, fit in and make some new friends. Thankfully we have found our perfect neighborhood! I came home last night to find that we had finally gotten grass. FINALLY! After months and month of calling they finally showed up and got it done.

So in honor of my new grass all the neighbors were out in a drive way having a few beers and catching up. Matthew, who is 10 refers to them as Driveway Parties. I think it is a great term. What went from a relax on the porch kind of night became a hang out in Bob and Carol’s driveway for 2 hours. I like those! Dinner was a throw together kind of plate of some sausage, almonds, leftover fruit salsa, pita chips, cheddar and some gouda cheese. And a Blueberry Wheat Beer to top it all off. Perfect summer dinner.

I excused myself at 9 so I could get my beauty sleep since I was one of the few who has to work today! I am picking my coworker up at 7:30 since she lives just down the road from me and we will head in to finish up a proposal that is due today at 2. Breakfast is the exact same as yesterday- 2 eggs, strawberries and a pomegranate Chobani. It works.

Have a great Friday!
