Movie Night

July 11, 2010

Today was a perfect day, we got up and got a really good workout in, did some cleaning around the house and watched the World Cup Finals. I was cheering for the underdog but Spain pulled it out in Extra Time. During the World Cup I was even able to nap! I love Sunday’s when we got to relax and just enjoy a beautiful day.

Cathy and Mike’s dog Kimchi came to stay with us for a day so they could take a mini trip to celebrate her birthday. Clifford and Kimchi enjoyed running around and playing most of the day. Since Clifford is only a year and a half he is still very puppy at times and wants Kimchi, who is ten, to be just as rambunctious! Kimchi needed a nap by mid afternoon.

After running a few errands we sat down to enjoy wine, popcorn and watched The Girl with the Dragoon Tattoo which has subtitles but was still a really good interruption of the book! If you have Netflix subscription you can watch it instantly. Our Blue Ray player has a wireless connection and you can connect to Netflix and Pandora. We actually got it figured out this afternoon and took advantage of quiet night to watch a movie. Perfect evening :)

Grandpa Turns 80

July 11, 2010

Yesterday afternoon I made the 2 hour drive to Chippewa Falls to celebrate my Grandpa’s 80th Birthday. It was a surprise party and it went very well, he had no idea and even had tears in his eye when he showed up!

My Grandpa is one tough guy, he lost his father at a very young age, fought in Korea, put himself through school at the University of Wisconsin, worked for the state of Wisconsin for 30+ years and had 5 boys in 8 years. His favorite past times are hunting, fishing, watching sports and reading the paper. Unfortunately he has lost most of his eye site so it is a little harder for him to enjoy those hobbies but he still manages to find someone to take him fishing at least once a week.
