Parma 8200 Opening

July 19, 2010

Saturday afternoon Mike and I had a chance to check out the preview party of new restaurant that is opening up, Parma 8200. This new concept from D’Amico is a modern take on a classic Italian Taverna. The preview ran from 3 until 6 and they were serving various Italian cured meats with cheese, passed appetizers, a few specialty cocktails along with glasses of their house red, white and prosecco.

The layout of the restaurant was quite nice, a great big open bar with lots of natural light, a large dining area with a few smaller more private rooms and a huge patio with tons of comfy furniture, fans, and what will be some fireplaces. They did a great job with the the cozy but chic feel of the restaurant, it really does feel like an Italian Taverna.

The specialty cocktails were a strawberry lemonade (this was our favorite), a dragonberry martini, a cherry mojito and a l’orange and ice tea drink. All of the speciality drinks were tasty but the strawberry lemonade was REALLY good, fresh strawberry puree with grey goose vodka, lemons and soda water. A perfect summer drink.
