Revolution Brewing Company

August 1, 2010

Saturday afternoon before heading to the Wicker Park Festival we stopped at Revolution Brewing Company for a quick snack and a chance to try some of their unique beers. Revolution opened a few months ago in the Logan Square neighborhood and it was packed on a Saturday afternoon at 1. There was not a table to be had!

Like Xoco, Revolution uses local food, reclaimed wood and materials for the bar and even the light fixture were made of the metal circles on wine barrels. Such a great space! Since they brew their beer on site they offer tours on weekends and you peek in to see what is happening at any time.

We each tried a different beer, I had Rosie which had hibiscus and orange peel that give it a pretty pinkish hue. But the best thing about Revolution was the bacon popcorn. Combining two of my favorite foods into one salty snack is pure goodness :) It is popcorn topped with crispy bacon pieces, parmesan cheese and fried sage. Not a treat I would eat too often but seriously delicious! The four of also split a pizza, one slice for each of us and we felt satisfied enough until dinner.
