Bricks American Pub

August 17, 2010

On the way to the Mystery Party on Saturday evening we stopped at a wine bar and pub that we had heard good things about. Since we don’t usually get to the northern ‘burbs of Minneapolis it warranted a stop. Bricks recently opened and features unique beers and wine, brick oven pizzas and a few burgers.

We grabbed seats at the bar, perused the menu and decided on a Greek Pizza with feta, balsamic, red onion, and kalamata olives. Really tasty but it was a fork and knife kind of pizza since the crust was so thin.

Mike had an Italian Burger with a trio of Italian meats and fries with fresh dill over the top. Neither of us had ever thought to put dill on the fries and it smells heavenly and gives a nice fresh flavor.

Overall thoughts: Unique concept for the ‘burbs, hopefully they can last and provide some options besides a chain and your typical tap beers and house wine.

A Much Cuter Camera Bag

August 17, 2010

Nothing screams I am a tourist more than a big black camera bag, yet you can’t leave that prize possession Digital SLR unprotected. That would just be wrong. So I did some searching on Etsy and found a great seller who makes custom camera bags. You choose from medium or large, choose the inside fabric and the outside decorative panels. How fun, a custom camera bag that looks more like a purse and lets me get some of the purse essentials in it. I was sold!

I have received lots of compliments when I have been out with my new bag and people asking me where I got my purse. Score! I look less like a crazy bag lady, a tourist and a wannabe professional photographer. If you are in the market for a new camera bag check out the GypsyRose Handbags shop. I paid normal price for my bag and am writing this post because I like the bag and want to support Etsy sellers :) The best way to hear about new products is through word of mouth and I love sharing my internet shopping finds.
