There are certain parts of the metro area that I just don’t get to that often, pretty much anything north of St. Paul and Minneapolis. I don’t work or live in that direction so I rarely try any restaurants outside of the cities or inner ring suburbs. I was babysitting for a friend and needed a good dinner before surrounding myself with toddlers
Enter Pittsburgh Blue, a part of the Parasole Restaurant group with a location in Maple Grove. They are known for their steaks and table sides. Since I don’t eat enough to order a big steak I was really excited to see a half steak on the bar menu. Half a portion that I could actually get close to finishing, sign me up! I ordered the steak medium rare and kept the fries as the side but only ended up eating a few. The piece of garlic brioche style bread and steak were more than enough.
The service was great, it was prime Minnesota dinner time and we had a table in less than 15 minutes. The food came out fast and our waitress was very friendly. The only negative was three really drunk middle aged ladies who were doing shots at the bar and you could hear them throughout the whole place. At least they were having fun.
If I had a reason to be up in Maple Grove I would check out Pittsburg Blue again. The food was good, friendly service and for once my portion wasn’t so out of control.
Todays 30 for 30 in 30:
My birthday is a week away and I leave for Arizona on Friday, I am so excited to see a good friend, have delicious food and wine and celebrate my birthday in a place that is warmer than Minneapolis!
