Porter Creek

February 4, 2011

Thursday’s are my favorite day of the week, its close to the weekend and I can put my brain on weekend mode. After a busy day at work, a quick bang trim (side note on this, my salon offers free bang trims in between hair cuts, it makes a cut look shiny and new), a quick stop at home to feed Clifford and give him a kiss and I was back out the door for dinner.

We went to Porter Creek in Burnsville, I had heard some good things about it and they were true. Yes it’s a restaurant in the burbs but it was pretty good and their website actually had really good food photography! I was impressed. I wasn’t really in a big meat mood so I opted for their Chicken Chowder Soup and an Israeli Couscous Salad.

More soup and the Southwest Chopped were the other items on the table.

The atmosphere is upscale for the burbs and the crowd is a bit (ok make that a lot older, I was dragging the average age down) but the food was really good and our service was fantastic. I got noticed taking pictures of my foods and was asked if I blogged and if everything was good. Smile Glad they asked.

I would go back and try a steak sometime, everything that was passing by the table did look really good. Next time I am in the south metro I would check out Porter Creek again.

I will have to tell my parents about this one. Burnsville is about the closest to any decent food from where they live. It’s also a good meet up spot for a half way point between them and my brother and SIL. Great review!

The food looks delicious!! Usually when I’m taking pictures of my food, I either get weird looks or ignored. I did get asked once if I blogged and then I got all sorts of free food and the chef came out to see how everything was. :)
