I did something shocking and very unlike me this morning…
I ran on the treadmill at the gym. I had an off site meeting so I had a few extra minutes in the morning and decided to sneak an extra workout in. I was walking back to the ellitpicals with my Ipod and my magazine in hand and I walked past the treadmills. I stopped for a minute and walked over to a treadmill and got on. I did a combination of walking and running for 30 minutes and felt like I got a pretty good workout in.
Now, do this make me a runner. Nope. I still don’t love it but I did enjoy my 30 minutes of cardio before I headed to the weight room.
So what does this mean? I may run occasionally and may even do a full 5k training program. This does not mean that I want to run a marathon or become running obsessed like so many that I see. I workout to be healthy, maintain my weight and for the millions of health benefits. Working out is not a competitive thing for me!
Now if I could only get work to buy me one of these! This would make me so productive at work and cure my craziness that I feel when I sit all day.
