Personal Trainer for a Day

Mom and I had a little time on Saturday afternoon to workout before going over to see Katy and we figured why not get a great workout in. My Mom belongs to Planet Fitness in Manitowoc and it is actually a pretty decent gym. They don’t have any classes but they have lots of cardio equipment, weight machines and a decent amount of free weights (although no squat rack which is pretty disappointing). Although for less than $20 a month, it is well equipped.

 

We did 30 minutes of pretty good cardio on the elliptical at a good speed of 7, so about 4 miles in 30 minutes. I had a good sweat going! Then it was on to the free weights and I was going to show my Mom a few basic moves that I knew she could handle. We did chest press, Bulgarian split squats, shoulder presses, bicep curls, tricep extensions, plié squats and calf raises. All easily done with free weights and she can do them at her speed!

 

I think she might be a bit sore today! It was fun to walk her through a typical workout that I would do and see her realize just how hard I work in the gym. Next time I am home I might need to teach her a few more lifting options.

I miss classes when in the past I have joined a gym without them. Now I don’t belong to a gym and I miss it!!! $20 can’t be beat, though!
