Last night a big glass of heavy red was in order, it has been a really stress full week. So I opted for my favorite stress relief method: wine and magazines. Nothing like curling up on the couch with a few issues of a magazine and a big glass of wine. Enter in Nebbiolo, a wine from the Piedmont region of Italy that has characteristics of herbs, cherries, raspberries, truffle, tobacco and prune.
Big bold flavors with a medium body, very strong nose and dark red hue. This is one beautiful wine. When young, Nebbiolo is very light in color but as it ages it takes on a very dark hue! Nebbiolo is harvested in late October and is rumored to be surrounded by fog during that time. I think it has a mysterious quality
The 2008 Langhe Nebbiolo was even the LA Times wine of the week last August. Retailing for $18-$25 in makes for a good I want to treat myself with a really good glass of wine during the week bottle.

I am with you on wine being a good stress treat. A long run in the morning and a glass of red wine in the evening = stress relief for me.
I will have to look for this wine.
enjoy,

I have never tried a Nebbiolo before. I am going to look for one.
I agree there’s nothing more relaxing than the couch, with a glass of vino and some magazines. Hope your week gets better!
