Thank You Blog

April 5, 2011

Enter 4:30 on Monday afternoon and I was feeling relieved, happy and stress free. Why? I gave my 2 weeks notice at my job! A job that has been really stressful, full of chaos and constant change. About 6 weeks ago after a particularly bad day I decided I was done, no more dysfunction, that day I set my mind to finding a new job.

It is amazing what the power of determination can do! Less than 6 weeks later I was signing an offer letter for a fantastic new job. I will be working as a Marketing Manager for a mid-sized company in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. The most exciting thing about this new opportunity is being able to use my MBA. I get to use some of those skills that I spent 2 really hard years working on.

How did I find something so quickly? Networking and spending the time reaching out to contacts and only applying to things that I was qualified for and that I knew I could realistically land.

What other things helped? My blog. Seriously! Thank you blog for helping me get my next job and further advance my career. The ability to show something that I did all the work on, from the layout, to the social media, all the content and time spent writing posts. I never would have imagined how much blogging would positively impact my life. The 1,200 posts that I have written over the last (almost) 2 years are great examples of who I am and what I can do.

Blogging has given me opportunities to work on my creative side, improve my photography, meet amazing friends, attend conferences, try new recipes, experience new fitness trends and try some really amazing wine.

Thank You Blog!

Osaka Sushi

April 5, 2011

Restaurant owners who have all you can eat specials probably really like me, I don’t eat enough to get my money’s worth! All you can eat just isn’t a very good deal for me. Except for sushi! Paying $12.95 for all you can eat sushi, I am in! A mixture of sushi, lots of choices of rolls, salads, a hot buffet, dessert and green tea. I am a happy girl! 4 of us had a lunch time visit to Osaka and all 4 of us left full. I think that’s a good sign.

Picture my plate x 2, I wanted to get as much good sushi as I could Smile A bowl of hot and sour soup, and a few helpings of the seaweed and cucumber salad. Yum. I could eat sushi everyday!

We got there right when it opened so all the food was very fresh, not much to review in terms of service since all they do is bring you a beverage, but the sushi was fresh and they had lots of choices so I would definitely hit up Osaka again.
