Fusion

April 12, 2011

Best way to spend a Monday night? Meet up with a blog friend for a butt kicking Warrior Sculpt class at LifePower and then walk around the corner to Fusion to catch up over drinks and food. Kate and I met at LifePower at 6 to save our spots for the 6:30 Warrior Sculpt.  So glad we got there early because the class was packed! I had taken other versions of this class but this one was my favorite. Slightly heated to about 85, it was 60 minutes of a hard core workout. The instructor was intense and estimated we burned between 500-1,000 calories.

We both quickly showered and headed over to Fusion to grab some dinner, after reviewing the menu we decided to share a Tropical Chicken Flatbread and the Mediterranean Plate that had humus, goat cheese, tapanade, and a red pepper spread. Perfect amount of food to split!

I had a glass of wine, Kate had a gin and tonic and since we split dinner we opted to split dessert.  I rarely eat dessert but when I have someone to share it with it makes it easier ;) A raspberry and apricot dish with a bit of ice cream and whip cream. Even with sharing we didn’t finish the whole thing.

Last nights discussion was workouts, food, life, what we wanted to do when we grew up, boys, and of course blogging. I love going out with blog friends! They understand the need to photo everything, tweet, and the importance of a good beverage. Thanks for a fun time Kate.

Fusion is convenient, the food is ok, the service is ok, but their $2 dollar drinks after 9 on Monday’s are a good deal. We got to Fusion about 8 and our waiter came over and asked if we could close out our tab at 8:55 so he could go home. That is a huge pet peeve of mine, we are there to enjoy our meal and that shouldn’t matter on what time you want to go home.  I would go back to Fusion for a drink but might pass on the food. There are a lot of other places in Uptown that have better food.
