Good Day Cafe

May 23, 2011

Going out for breakfast is a rarity for me. Usually I am heading to the gym on a weekend morning and then off to do something fun after and I end up eating something quick at home. But since we had a fun day planned of yoga, wine tasting and dinner out I figured we would need some sustenance in there.

After a challenging 75 minutes Vinyasa 2 class you could hear our stomachs rumbling. Food was in order and specifically good breakfast food. We arrived at Good Day Café about 10am and it was packed. I was worried the wait would be too long but we survived the 10 minutes.

Once we did get seated service was a bit on the slow side but there was not an open spot in the entire restaurant so I do understand. I settled on a big glass of water, iced tea and the egg sandwich.

I enjoyed the egg sandwich and only ate about half of it, it was huge! The s.o. ordered a tropical smoothie and a huge omelet. As usually there wasn’t much food left on his plate.

I would go back to try other things on the menu but since I rarely go out to breakfast I would rather try a new place. Slight annoyance, they don’t have a website and their Facebook page does not have their menu on it. I like to go back and link to their website or at least be able to accurately describe the food.

The reason I popped over was to say welcome to the Kitchen Reader, but then I got distracted by breakfast!

I’m a MN native and before we moved we had a “bi-weekly brunch brigade” with the goal of sussing out all the most delicious brunch spots in MSP. We did a great job of it! Now we don’t go out for breakfast much anymore and while I appreciate the money-saving aspect, I miss the excuse to hang out with friends over eggs and coffee. =)
