After an off site vendor meeting I finally got a chance to check out Black Sheep Coal Fired pizza in Minneapolis with on of the Directors I work with. He doesn’t live in the Twin Cities and really wanted to get downtown and try something different. My original idea was Bar La Grasa but they don’t do lunch. Boo! I know he would have loved it. Plan B was Black Sheep Coal Fired Pizza.
It’s been open a few years but since I don’t work downtown I don’t head that way for lunch often. I am so glad we did it. We got some “team building time” and a chance to enjoy a nice lunch. We each opted for a salad, I got the Farmers Market which had arugula, basil, feta and nice big chunks of watermelon. A last few bites of Summer.

A pizza to split, the Fennel Sausage, Hot Salami, Onion & Cracked Green Olives. I loved the pizza but will be honest and say I didn’t notice any salami, onion or green olives. Maybe they were in the sausage? But it was good, we got a table during busy lunch time and our service wasn’t baaaad (sorry, I had to do it!).
If I were around downtown for lunch again, I would stop back.

That pizza looks very yummy. I’m a sucker for good crusts, and this looks like it fits the bill. Bummer about the lack of toppings though. Hopefully that isn’t a usual occurrence.
