October was month 6 of the Girls Big Night which gets amazing and talented lady food bloggers in the room together to chat, eat, take photos and enjoy some wine. The pick for October was Café 128. A place I had never been and wish I had! Amazing ambiance, cozy, warm, creative menu and a place that gives us a jeroboam for the table. I heart them. Seriously! 8 of us caught up, spent a few minutes figuring out that the giant bottle was indeed a jeroboam and ate our hearts out.
Every month I met new ladies and come home on Cloud 9 from a night of foodie and social heaven. This group is such a creative outlet, we all come from different “real life” professions who all share a love of food. That love of food is our commonality and the beginning point for good friendships.
Hello wine…
Roasted garlic and goat cheese, we all successfully avoided vampires for the next few days.
Risotto with sage and pumpkin. I enjoyed every delicious bite, even contemplated licking the plate clean and this food bloggers group has been known to lick a few plates ![]()
Nicole, from Pepporini is not a Vegetable (she wins the award of best blog title). A singer, blogger, personal chef extradionire.
Kara, who works less than a mile from me and is a serious cook!
Roasted veggies ordered by two of my veggie loving friends, beautiful and flavorful with a bed of lentils below.
Pink snapper with lentils the smelled so good, I didn’t ask Monique for a bite but I should have!
Nicole’s cheese plate, so pretty!
Samantha went for the finger licking ribs, there was not much left by the end…
The paining, law instructing, writing and beautiful Susan
And Amanda who needed some serious career encouragement, she is thisclose to going for her dream.
As usual I never take pictures of myself and I forgot to get a snapshot of Kate, Monique and Samantha.

I’m so bummed I never made it to one of these before I left – what a great group!

What a great blog! I’m always stoked to find nutrition and health related blogs which pay due attention to wine – essential right!? I’m also feeling very inspired reading your workouts – I quit my gym membership on account of finances a few months ago (this studying lark is not well paid
) – whilst I was fine for the first couple or months, this past month I’ve been REALLY missing and decided to go back – your post has made me doubly stoked about this!
