My friend Bobby and I try to grab dinner once a month to catch up on life and solve the worlds problems. I’m not kidding! At dinner we discussed the wage gap between men and women and how that is changing as the number of women with degrees now outranks men. Not exactly light conversation at dinner but very entertaining. On the list of places to try was Stouts Pub, a restaurant a few blocks away from Bobby’s house in Falcon Heights.
Big beer list, appetizers and wood fired pizzas. Sounded interesting to me! Stouts has only been open a few weeks so they are still working out the menu and beer list so Bobby and I ordered a Mediterranean pizza, turkey jerky and chips with guacamole. First impression? The pizza was good and I loved the addition of the capers.
The turkey jerky was tasty but could have used some more spices and pepper

Guacamole was decent, but I’ve had better.

I had one tiny pumpkin beer, on happy hour for $5 dollars. Bobby guessed that it was pumpkin by just smelling it. Sometimes one is all I want.

The one thing that Stouts really has going for them is their service, our waiter was fantastic. He stopped by often to check on us, made recommendations on the food and gave me a little sample of a beer I was unsure about. I would go back once they have more of their menu in place and a few more beers on tap. Judging by how busy it was I hope this place turns into a good neighborhood spot.
