I have been a regular user of a heart rate monitor for the past 7 years. Owning at least 5 different models, some good some bad. Why use one? To see where your heart rate is at and what your estimated calorie burn might be. But why not look at the machine? They are wrong. Really really really wrong. Wrong as in not even close to an estimate!
Bad One?
I don’t love giving bad reviews but this monitor sucks! The box promised it was reliable as one with a chest strap. I thought, great! No annoying chest strap digging into me. The reality. Doesn’t even come close to being accurate and I can even get the darn thing to work. Grrr. I should have taken it back right away.

Good One?
I had this amazing Suunto heart rate monitor for 5+ years. It recently died on me and I was so sad. I tried to change the battery on the watch and the chest strap and nothing. The watch would work but would never pick up my heart rate. I was so sad about this. I might just need to save and buy one.
Do you use one and if so, what brand is it?
