Workout Gear Favorites

January 14, 2012

I might have a slight obsession with wine shoes purses workout clothes. And by slight it may mean two drawers of shirts/sports bras and a drawer of just pants. They are small drawers I swear ;) Over the past month I have donated some of my older, doesn’t fit right, don’t like, stretched out, was from at least 2003 or earlier items. Maybe someone at Goodwill will like some of it! Since I cleaned out all those items it was time to do some stocking up with items that I would love and would fit properly.

I bought a few pairs of pants, two new shorts, two new layering/cover-up jackets, 3 new sports bras, and socks. All but 1 thing was on sale or clearance. Did you know that January is one of the best times to buy workout items? Most stores are clearancing out holiday items, counting on the January Joiners to need a few things so they really good sales, and sometimes there are even sales are some of the spring preview items.

What Did I Pick Up?

Woodgrain Full Zip from Lucy for $29.99 (Original Price $89)

Perfect for lounging or for a jacket to throw on while heading to and from the gym. Super soft and cozy.

Groove Pant from Lululemon for $98 (The one item I didn’t get on sale. Ouch.)

It hurt to spend more on workout pants than I do on dress pants for work but I love them. They are comfortable, great to workout in, and if I could own every item in the darn store I would. Sadly I have a budget.

Groove Pant*R

G-Flex Pant from Gap for $35 (Normally $54)

At $35 dollars these are steal compared to Lululemon. Well constructed and very comfortable. I have a pair from a few years ago that are still going strong and I wear them at least once a week in the winter. Love these pants!

Gap Fit Color Binding Jacket from Gap for $25 (Original Price $69.95)

I found a discontinued color (navy) and happened to be there when they had an extra 25% off clearance. Even better! Fits perfectly over workout tanks and works great as a gym cover-up, a lighter jacket for outdoor activity, and was very comfortable for a 5 hour car ride last weekend. I wish I would have bought the pink too.

High Impact Sports Bar from Gap for $9 (Original Price $36)

Again a discontinued color (teal) and the extra 25% off. I am not large chested by any means but this is a great sports bra. Worked perfect for HIIT and a hard core weights workout. I try to get my sports bras on clearance and this was a great find.

Marika High Impact Sports Bra from Nordstrom Rack for $15 (Original Price $45)

Nordstrom Rack could have it’s own post about how great it is for discounted workout clothes (and just about every other apparel item). Really good deals on brands like Adidas, Nike, Lucy, Marika, Alo, and many other brands. You need to be in the mood to dig and check sizes versus what the hanger tag lists but for more than 50% off I will dig.

High Impact Sport Bra

Rollover Capri from Alo at Nordstrom Rack for $19.99 (Normal Price $55)

Alo makes great workout clothes. Reasonable priced, great fabrics and they are easy to find at Nordstrom Rack!

The one item that I really really want but still haven’t purchased because it is so darn expensive?

The Stride Jacket from Lululemon. So cute but at $108 dollars its out of my price range. Maybe for my birthday ;)
