Wine Wednesday La Loggia 2010 Barbera d’Alba

July 18, 2012

Give me a nice home cooked weeknight meal with a bottle wine and I will be a happy girl. Healthy food that Scott and I prepared while we sit down to dinner and enjoy each others company.

Even thought it is summer I still enjoy a good red, yes whites are great for patios. I followed my rule of drink what you like and opened a nice big Barbara d’Alba from Italy. One of the wines from our Swirl Wine Club this winter, this bottle was hidden in a rack. Not saving for a special occasion just one we didn’t drink that month.

I am glad I saved it, it was such a nice red. Served with a hearty pasta and very easy to drink. A beautiful garnet color but the taste was a bit to light for my palate. Drinkable but not great.

Edited to add that this isn’t from Swirl, it has been sitting in my wine rack since winter and I have no clue where it is from! Oh well. It was still a decent wine ;)
