Today’s the Day

August 18, 2012

Today is our big day, the day when I marry the perfect person for me. I have gone on and on about why Scott is the right one and how great he is so I am just going to reaffirm all those things that I have said.

We are spending the day surrounded by friends and family, let’s hope the weather is great but if not, we will make do. It is not about the flowers or the cake or the big white dress (that I would NEVER wear). It is about making a statement of our love in front of all of these people. We will count on them to support us through ups and downs.

And there will be ups and downs! We have already had our fair share and I don’t see that changing. But we have worked really hard to get here and are 100% committed to each other and our future. We will not live in the past but walk together towards the unknown.

I am a very lucky girl and can’t wait to see what the future holds. No name change happening for either of us but we do become a family. The two of us working towards one common goal.

There will be a recap or two on the blog and we will definitely be taking lots of pictures when we head to Thailand in September. But it will be back to normal blogging, even though I had less than 10 wedding focused posts since December. This isn’t a wedding blog and I am so glad I wasn’t one of those girls who was caught up in every single tiny little detail.

Today is a test in letting go. Being less type A and just going with the flow. If things go wrong, and they will, I am moving on and will continue enjoying the day. The only goal of the day? Get married. The rest is just fun.

A simple thank you will go a long way. So Thank You to our friends, family. blog readers and the extended blog community. It has been so much fun to share a tiny piece of this journey with you.
