Wine Wednesday Happy Hour at Home

August 29, 2012

We drink most of our wine at home, sitting on our patio or just curled up together on the couch. I much prefer this than sitting in a restaurant or wine bar all the time (I do love going out and enjoying wine but it is easier at home). When we do wine nights at home I often put together a tapas style dinner where we can sit and enjoy our wine and slowly fill up on our favorite foods.

Our most recent picks:

Tomatoes, peapods, carrots

Guacamole, spicy hummus

Rosemary Asiago and a spicy Monterrey Jack Cheese

Trader Joe’s Balela Salad (I am working on recreating this, but haven’t perfect it yet)

Trader Joe’s White Wine Salami

This plate was enjoyed slowly over a few hours, with a great bottle of white and it gave us chance to sit down and relax after all the wedding craziness.

My husband and I love doing nights like this, too. I will usually put together a cheese plate with a few different selections, edamame, veggies and fruit, and maybe some dark chocolate. It is definitely a nice way to slow down and enjoy a lovely meal together.

I agree with you that I usually prefer to enjoy a bottle of wine and some food at home. It’s more low key, and saves a few bucks too. And thanks again for hosting a great giveaway (and making my day!). :)
