Fitness Friday: Flex Giveaway

November 16, 2012

I feel like I am in a pretty good rhythm with my workouts, I have 2-3 days of yoga and 2-3 days of cardio/weights. It’s a good balance and I have been feeling strong and healthy! When I have structure and a plant to follow I do so much better. Best Body boot camp really helps and my 6am Tuesday/Thursday yoga sculpt classes keep me sane.

This week was:

Sunday: Cardio

Monday: Cardio and Best Body Bootcamp

Tuesday: Yoga Sculpt

Wednesday: Off

Thursday: Yoga Sculpt

Friday: Cardio and Best Body Bootcamp

Saturday: Probably a 90 minute hot yoga class

Ladders have truly kicked my butt. You start with 5 reps of an exercise and move up to 10 with short periods of rest in between. Sounds easy but it is so darn hard. My arms were shaking by the time I was done. Love.that.feeling.

With my recommitment to my workout schedule I have thought a lot about what I wear to the gym and making sure it is the right thing for what I am doing. I have a pair of Adidas and Nike of minimalist style shoes (like the Nike Free) and I love them for cardio and weight lifting. Since I don’t do much running they offer enough support for my workouts. Add in Free Flex insoles by Smart Shoe and they are even better! You slip out the old insole, cut the Free Flex to fit your shoe and workout like usual. They add a little more padding and support. Not too much since they are supposed to be minimalist shoes. Just enough.

Your chance to win a pair of free flex from Smart Shoe (they are available online and at Target too). What is your preferred style of workout shoes? I am a Nike or Adidas minimalist shoe lover, I have had both the Free and the Adidas version. Love them. I will pick a random winner next Friday.

The winner of the Special K Movie Night Giveaway is Jess B. I will email you!

I think from years of running I still love a good supportive running shoe best. I have Nike Frees, which I love for the look/colors, but always feel like I need more support when I wear them.

I’ll have to look into those inserts – sound interesting!! I love my Adidas – not sure what the style is, but they are blue, which is my favorite color!

I love my Asics 2170s. Plenty of cushion for my runs and versatile enough for classes at the gym.
