Wine Wednesday Estancia Meritage

February 20, 2013

On major holiday’s we choose to make a fantastic meal at home. I have no desire to deal with a limited menu, amateurs and inflated prices. So we eat at home, drink a great bottle of wine and enjoy our night in. No need to be worried about driving. We just open the wine and head to the couch after dinner. Pretty fantastic in my mind.

Enter a $30 dollar perfect bottle of wine. It went with ribeye, brussles sprouts salad and was just got to sit on the couch and drink.

A beautiful ruby color, flavors of berries, vanilla and tobacco. Not a wine we buy for everyday drinking but so darn good.

I had the opportunity to try this wine over the holidays, too! Bob and I both really enjoyed it. :)

Sounds like a great wine!
We also stayed in on V-day and it was really nice to cook a slow dinner together.

I agree – we won’t go out on Valentines day or New Years Eve.

I’ve had great luck with the Estancia wines, but haven’t tried the Meritage. I’ll be on the lookout for it.
