About Me
Thanks for stopping by! I started blogging during the summer of 2009 right before a big trip to Italy. I figured what better way to document the trip then to post about it for the world to see. A week into posting and I was hooked! Writing about my passions of fitness, food, travel and wine makes me truly happy.
Who Am I?
I balance the love of food and wine with a weekly goal of three to five workouts and a strong desire to travel. In my “real” 7:30 to 5:30 life I work for a Promotional Company helping clients figure out how to showcase their brands. While I do love this job, the job that would fulfill every notion of the perfect career would be to have a cooking/travel show on Food Network or the Travel Channel so I can combine healthy living with food, travel and wine. I have been living in Minneapolis for the last 11 years after moving here for college in the Fall of 1999 (if you are counting backwards that would make me 29). Some how I came and never left! 2 Degrees and a few jobs later I am now living in a great house in the perfect neighborhood and married to the best guy for me. Life is pretty darn good
What are my goals? Where have I come from?
While I have never struggled with weight or eating I have made healthy living the core of who I am and how I live my life. Am I healthy all the time, heck no! But I do strive to find a balance between it all. Eating what I want, when I want it has really worked. Nothing is off limits and everything is at least tasted. With the majority of those items being healthy and nutritious it seems to work pretty well. Why do I workout? As a major stress reliever, there is nothing better than a good cardio session followed by muscle exhausting weight lifting and add in the occasional yoga session or fun workouts like Zumba or TRX and I feel pretty happy about getting my workouts in.

Nice to see another “almost 30″ year old out there blogging! My husband grew up in a small town outside of Green Bay too and we live in Milwaukee now! Can’t wait to read more of your blog!
Mellissa,
At Foodbuzz in November in SF, all of these people were telling me about the “Minnesota girl” – which must have been YOU! I’m originally from the Twin Cities and just spent 12 days at home visiting my family. Did you do your MBA at Carlson?? Congrats on what sounds like a very event-filled 2009. Would love to meet you the next time I’m in Minnesota (although it may not be for a few months). Until then, stay warm and keep doing lots of yoga!
Lindsay
