I like to go to the gym with a plan, a good weight workout and my normal cardio session but in 2020 I want to push a little harder and try new things. I want to try to take advantage of all the amenities that my gym has to offer, classes, a pool, hot tub and yoga.

Every month I get so excited about what will be in my Foodie Pen Pals box. It feels like a present, full of things I know I am going to love. This month was a box filled with Trader Joe’s goodies. All things I had never tried! Amazing considering how much I love shopping there.
It’s been a while since I’ve done a Makeup Monday post, I’ve had a few things that have been my go to over the past month. One was from the Fab Fit Fun quarterly subscription box and the others have been impromptu Target buys or stocking up during the Sephora sale. They really know how to get me with that 15% off!
On Saturday night before heading to see the Gear Daddies play at The Fine Line in Minneapolis Pete, Gretchen, Mike and I went to grab dinner at Ike’s in Minneapolis. Ike’s is one of those places that seems like it has been around forever but it is relatively new, they just did a great job at making it seem like a 40’s style lounge. They are known for their class cocktails and burgers and we all ended up ordering a burger! We split a starter of potstickers that got eaten so quickly I didn’t even get a chance to take a picture. I ordered the turkey burger that came with cranberry sauce and mashed potatoes and gravy. This was delicious and so filling that I only ate about half of it.
We are all well aware of the dangers of sun exposure and its links to cancer. However, sun damaged skin is a less lethal but still damaging side effect. The sun can cause the skin to age prematurely. It may start to become very dry, wrinkled and covered in dark spots. There are treatments that can improve the quality of the skin but you might be surprised to hear that may foods can help. Some foods help protect the skin from the sun while others can actually help reverse the current damage.
I took today off to use up a personal day. Use it or loose it! I didn’t manage to sleep in, thanks to Tanner and Clifford for being up at 530 every single day.
We all have a foodie in our lives (I happen to be that foodie in a lot of my friends and families lives) and it can be hard to figure out what the heck to get them for the holiday’s. I have a few ideas! These are just a sampling of my favorite kitchen items:
Someone at work asked me why I love food so much, and that made me stop and think. Why do I love food? Why is it so much of who I am?
